SAPD Units re-directed traffic at the blocked railway crossings until the Train was operational and was placed back onto the correct railway track. The train was approximately 7,000 feet long and was temporarily blocking multiple railway crossings in the Southeast part of town. It was learned that approximately $2,500 worth of damage was caused when the train struck a “Derailing Unit” after traveling down the wrong section of railway track. Officers made contact with a representative of Texas Pacifico, and it was learned that unknown person(s) intentionally damaged a “Switch Stand” causing one of their trains to travel down a wrong section of railway track. The SAPD was dispatched this morning around 1:00am to a location off of Upton Street in reference to a possible Criminal Mischief. The unknown suspect(s) could be facing the charge of “Interference with Railroad Property >=$2,500<$30,000” which is a State Jail Felony in the State of Texas. San Angelo, TX (May 19, 2023, 9:13am): The San Angelo Police Department is seeking information regarding damage to railway property (belonging to Texas Pacifico) that is believed to have occurred during the early morning hours of this date. The SAPD commends the Pilot's quick thinking and actions as he was able to successfully conduct an emergency landing on a public roadway without the result of any injuries or damage. The SAPD then assisted with safely escorting the plane/pilot back to the San Angelo Regional Airport (Mathis Field) from the mentioned convenience store. The plane was then pushed off the roadway into the Jack’s Convenience Store Parking lot pending the arrival of the Federal Aviation Administration, Skyline Aviation, and SAPD Officers. The Pilot was able to successfully land his airplane near the intersection of Knickerbocker Road and Loop 306 without any damage to the plane or nearby property. The Pilot advised DFW's Air Traffic Control that he had run out of fuel and needed to safely land his airplane. The San Angelo Police Department’s Communications Division received a call for service earlier this morning regarding a pilot needing to conduct an emergency landing from the DFW's Air Traffic Control. No injuries or damage were reported as a result of the emergency landing due to the Pilot’s quick actions. San Angelo, TX (June 26, 2023, 9:00am): An airplane Pilot successfully navigated an emergency landing earlier this morning on Knickerbocker Road after running out of fuel. This is an active investigation and the SAPD ask that anyone with information regarding this incident please contact Det. The suspect was taken into custody on 8/4/23 and it is believed that this incident is not connected to the shooting incident that took place on West 19 th and Brown Street. It was learned that the suspect (a 16-year-old male) was believed to have discharged the firearm and that he had fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. SAPD’s Criminal Investigations and Crime Scene Division were requested on scene to assist. The SAFD transported the female to Shannon Medical Center where she was later pronounced as deceased. Officers arrived on scene and located an unconscious 17-year-old female who had an apparent gunshot wound on her back. The San Angelo Police Department was dispatched to a residence in the 1300blk of Paisano Place in reference to a shooting victim. San Angelo, TX (August 3, 2023, 8:13pm): A 17-year-old female is deceased after a shooting that took place yesterday evening at a residence in the Northeast side of San Angelo.
